Announcement of Vacancy for Food Service Processing

District Six Farm

Qualifications:  

Spartanburg County School District Six is seeking food service staff to aide in processing from the district farm.

• The employee will work in the fresh vegetables area, where they will be cross trained to work multiple areas.
• The employee will work in preparation of food that will be used in the district schools include the processing of tomatoes for pizza, spaghetti, and salsa.
• They will work in the repacking station where they will sort through and package custom orders to fulfill school orders.
• The vegetable inspection will involve sorting through all vegetables and doing quality inspections to remove any debris, roots, or anything considered hazardous.

Physical Requirements:

• Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Position requires standing, walking and bending on a regular basis on concrete flooring

Working Environment:

• Includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit.

Contract Length:                 240 days
